Maki, a married woman who works as a psychological counselor and supports patients, is visited by a man named Ichikawa. He has not been able to recover from the loss of his beloved dog, with whom he had lived for many years. Maki tries to counsel him and provide care, but Ichikawa, unable to accept reality, begins to accuse Maki of conspiring with the man next door to put poison in the dog's food.
